Ligia Olvera - Coaching Specialist

Ligia works with leaders and their teams to enhance their resilience and self-awareness, and, in turn, their capacity to lead from within. She has dedicated most of her career to driving personal and organizational transformation through consultancy services, executive coaching, team coaching and customized training for her clients. She has had a blog in El Financiero, a Costa Rican weekly financial newspaper, for the past 10 years, and is regularly hired as a lecturer on leadership.

Ligia integrates her knowledge of and experience in economics and strategy with aspects related to the development of leaders, such as positive psychology, neuroscience, stress management and executive coaching.

She has been a visiting professor in INCAE Business School's executive programs for the development of leaders. She has also designed and delivered various seminars, including "Leading from Within" and "Leading Multi-Generational Work Teams".

A dual Mexican-Costa Rican citizen, Ligia enjoys multi-cultural work. She is fluent in English and Spanish, loves to travel, and balances work with being a mom of two incredible human beings.

She has worked with leaders in different parts of the world and generated an impact on companies throughout Latin America in particular. Ligia currently leads a small practice that offers various services to develop leaders and their teams in Latin America.

She published the book Alas Atrapasueños (Dreamcatcher Wings) to empower women, girls and families that may have experienced abuse.

She began her career in the banking industry in Mexico and Costa Rica, and subsequently studied, lived and worked in the United States prior to returning to Costa Rica.

Ligia received her Leadership and Coaching certification at Georgetown University. She is accredited as a Master Certified Coach (MCC) by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Ligia has more than 6,000 hours of experience delivering executive coaching.

She founded the ICF-ACST-Level 1 "Leader Coach" program, every year at least 12 new leaders attend it. The program is recognized internationally with alumni from Venezuela, Spain, the United States, El Salvador and Costa Rica.

Ligia holds a Master's degree from INCAE Business School and a Licentiate degree in Economics from Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City. She is certified to administer various assessments, including Leadership Circle and Emotional and Social Competency Inventory.
